Whirlwind Week

NJ and I flew back to Europe six days ago at midnight.  The killer night flight to Amsterdam, with a seven hour stopover at Schiphol so NJ could see his father.  On to Yorkshire, landing at Leeds the Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday I'd arranged a photographer for NJ and myself (never had professional photos done of the two of us together), Thursday was mum's birthday, Friday my brother's wedding, and Saturday we flew back - that would be me, NJ and one gigantic hangover!  Got home at 2am this morning, up at 6 for the first day of school!

It was great to see everyone, the wedding was beautiful and we had the added bonus of being there on my fab mum's birthday for once.  I'm lucky in the fact that both my brother's are with great women, I love them both loads, I couldn't have chosen better myself.  I've not been to a wedding for years, this one was all the more special as it was my brother; an emotional day, with lots of happy tears!  Far too much alcohol, but that's another story!  NJ looked amazing in his suit, as did the rest of my family, we scrub up ok!

I didn't get chance to see my BFF too much, my fault.  We'd arranged for her to take us back to the airport, Manchester - plenty of time for a catch up, except I slept all the way (thanks to abovementioned hangover - sorry BFF!) Didn't get much chance to shop either as it was a whirlwind trip.  Luckily help was to hand at this end on our return; FFN (fab friend Nic) had made NJ a packed lunch and gotten him the school shirts that were out of stock last week.  NJ was excited on the plane to see Auntie Nic and family (that's how amazing we think they are after only knowing them for a matter of weeks!)

NJ's first day went well, his teacher, Peter, seems really nice (and normal), although he was tired.  I was so proud of him today in his uniform, all brave!!

Another busy week, the QBBF lunch/forum tomorrow with new Irish friend, dinner and drinks with Nic and the girls Tuesday night, birthday party Friday, it's all good.  Still no news on the labour quota, that's pretty worrying, but I guess that's part of life in Qatar.

I miss everyone already but it's good to be home too!
