MBA Global
Sooooooooo, the MBA has started. I feel excited but more than a little sick! Am I smart enough, will I be able to find the time, will I enjoy it, have I bitten off more than I can chew? I can't afford to fail this, literally and metaphorically. It's almost eighteen thousands pounds for a start. It is a huge amount of money to me; it would pay towards NJ's university degree for a start, and that date is looming, less than six years away until he leaves high school! I also need to do this for me. I know I am not stupid, but I don't have much in the way of further education and I've always wanted to do something. If I fail this, I fail me. The description online said 15 hours a week, but in practise it's more, in fact the course guide, which you can't download until you're paid up and registered, says 15-20 hours a week. The first block which is Leadership, is a 150 hours over 8 weeks, you do the maths!
Anyway, induction week and first study week over. I'm trying to keep on top of it and more so this week as I'm away next week in Abu Dhabi for ADIPEC, which means 24/7 meetings and being with colleagues; it will be hard, if not impossible to sneak away from events to study. It's normally one big boozy networking week, but I'll have to hit that on the head if I want to have a clear brain for any spare moments that I do have.
My parents are in week three of their visit, so they leave on Thursday evening, whilst I am at the Poppy Ball.. bad timing but can't be helped. It's been nice having them here although the weather hasn't been fantastic and a lot of rain and flooding the first two weekends.
Full on now until Xmas with two further trips planned to the UAE after next week. NJ is going to be with his dad over the Christmas holidays, for ten days, it will be ten days of worry....but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
