It's Just a Title
Good morning people! It's another 20-something degree day in my lovely Doha. I love Doha. I may have mentioned that before. I do NOT understand people that would live in a country or city that they despise. There's enough of them in Qatar, 'I'm just here for the money.' I don't get it, rant over. That's not what this post is about. Life's good. Work is busy, but finally feel like I'm starting to get some things (only some mind) under control. The Doha office is almost sorted, bar the new internet and furniture, but that won't be long now. The Dubai entity set-up is going along slower than it should, but not too unexpected. Dubai is further ahead than Doha they said. We don't get all this red tape and changing rules in Dubai they said. Well let me tell you, for anyone setting up a business in the U.A.E. it's no bloody easier than Qatar, no better, no worse, no different. Office has been secured, Trade License is the next thing to be applied for. It's ticking along.
Lots of fun things in the pipeline, starting this weekend with a trip to Dubai. Originally Thursday evening to Saturday night for the Dubai Mini's and Youths Rugby Tournament, but then I realised NJ is off school next week (yes it's half term already!!!) so I have extended the trip until Monday evening and taken Tuesday off to boot (why the hell not?). We will have a couple of nights in the hotel with the team and friends, then onto my friend P's for two nights (she moved out there last September, I may have mentioned?) Then I'm back out next Wednesday for a meeting. Next Thursday is Pokeno with the girls (a different group of girls to my usual chicks), which includes copious amounts of laughter and alcohol, followed by Cats the Musical (eeeek so excited) on the Saturday after rugby. A week later we jet off to Koh Samui to meet up with my folks who went out on the 15th January and are there for two months. March is fun packed with a camping trip with a big group of friends the first weekend somewhere in the desert. There's a Brian Adams concert in Doha and another rugby tournament in Abu Dhabi then NJ's birthday. That's March pretty much fully booked. April brings a family yoga retreat for Easter in Sri Lanka (more eeking - check out all the brackets - sorry!)
I haven't really planned further than that but we are thinking of going to Ireland, London (and Yorkshire - NJ) in the summer. I have business trips planned to Kuwait and Abu Dhabi in the next few weeks as well, it's all go.
Surround yourself with good people (check). Be grateful for what you have. x
