Weekends in Doha

'Living the dream' is what my brother says to me at least once a week. Am I?  Well I must admit, it's fantastic waking up every day with the sun shining.  It's amazing that I don't have to clean or wash and iron our clothes or put my hand down the toilet to clean it or change out the cat litter tray.  I still live my life though like every regular Joe back home.  I still have daily life things to do, like going to the supermarket, fixing NJ's bike, ferrying him around to various sports and social events, buying a new doormat, taking out the trash, cooking and emptying the dishwasher etc.  It's not all sitting at the pool with a cocktail every weekend.  We do have a good life though!  When the sun shines, it brightens your mood,  it opens a door full of possibilities (until it gets too hot) of desert camping, swimming in the sea, lounging by the pool, eating al fresco.  I have very little to complain about, but I work just as hard as the rest of the full time working population, more than most I'd say.  I average 50-60 hour work weeks.

I don't have to stand in the cold at the rugby!

At the weekend, I watch TV and eat pizza and drink wine like most people, rock 'n' roll.

I pay someone to wash my car.

I get stuck in traffic with idiot drivers on the road on my way to work.

There's no family around.

It hardly ever rains.

But, in general, life is amazing.
