Four Countries in One Day

I'm a walking zombie at a swimming gala today.  I have to sit through about 300 heats to watch NJ swim in four of them! Bliss! Not! I got back from Dubai last night around 11.30, it was close to 1 am before I got home and got to bed. Up at six for mentioned swimming gala.  There's better places to spend a Friday, but also worse.  I was very ambitious about studying and catching up today or going some way to catching up but the public internet is too slow and I'm currently on my hotspot through my phone, but it's too expensive to do for long.

It's been a crazy week with a terribly sad start.  My cousin died on Sunday, she was only 42.  As an expat having left the UK many years ago, 25 to be exact, I remember people as being the age as when I left, in my eyes she was still that young girl.  We hung out a lot as late teens, obviously saw each other growing up.  It's so so sad, finding it quite hard to believe, so young :-( Her mum is obviously devastated.  No-one expects to outlive a child. I don't have the words for her.

I've been in Dubai this week.  Flew via Oman, it's terribly tiring.  Yesterday morning was a 6 am start and a trip to Abu Dhabi from Dubai, so I was in four countries yesterday.  I'm doing dry February and pretty much cut out caffeine which I think is the reason I've managed to get through this week so far. I'm longing for my bed like you cannot imagine.

I have something important and quite urgent going on at work which is taking up a lot of my time, and eating into my free time.  There's stuff going on with school as well, plus my study........................................ breathe.

On a brighter note, NJ knocked 5 seconds (5.7 to be exact) off his 100 m freestyle record and came second in heat, amazing!

Life is short, tell people you love them! ALL THE TIME!

loves xxxxx
